- Clothes that don’t fit anymore
- Weird bits and bobs in the kitchen you haven’t used in a year
- Keys with no locks
- Cables with no gadgets
- Outdated electronics
- Stained and ripped clothes
- Worn out shoes (if they can’t be fixed)
- Old artwork, letters or memorabilia (digitize these)
- A piece of furniture that’s not serving you
- Papers, bills, homework that needs recycled
- Oddball plastic toys
- Puzzles with missing pieces
- Anything ugly
- Annoying toys that makes sounds you don’t like
- Gear your child no longer needs (if not handing down)
- Clothes your child no longer wears (if not handing down)
- Bed linen and towels you never use and don’t like
- Sports gear you won’t need again
- Food in your pantry you don’t want to be eating
- Old food in the fridge and freezer
- One too many blankets or throws
- Books you don’t like
- Nick-nacks
- Empty shampoo/ soap/ etc. bottles
- Dried out markers and pens
Use this list and visit each room in the house. Recycle, donate, give what you can. But don’t hesitate – get it out of the house ASAP!
